01/17/14 - Reported Structure Fire
At 4:00 PM, Rescue 48 was disptached to assist Station 44 (Intercourse) on a reported
structure fire at the M&T Bank on Old Philadelphia Pike. Units arrived to find a slight smoke condition in a back
office. Rescue 48 arrived and staged with other mutual aid units. Rescue 48 was released at 4:22 PM.
01/01/14 - First Call For 2014
At 4:02 AM, Rescue 48 was dispatched to assist Station 62 (Witmer Fire) on a possible
vehicle accident with entrapment on Rt 340 in the area of Witmer Rd. Assistant 62 arrived and reported one vehicle overturned
with no entrapment. Rescue 48 was recalled and placed back in service at 4:07 AM.
12/31/13 - Last Incident For 2013
Just before 9 PM, Station 48 was disptached to the 2800 block of Lincoln Highway
East for an unknown type fire. Engine 48-2 and Chief 48 arrived to find a small trash fire to the rear of an apartment
building. Crews extinguished the fire and returned to station 20 minutes later.
12/24/13 - Structure Fire Assist To 47
On Christmas Eve at 1:40 PM, Engine 48-2 and Rescue 48 were dispatched on the first alarm assignment ot assist Station
47 (Paradise) on a reported structure fire. Chief 47 arrived and reported a working fire and requested a second alarm
bringing Air 48 and Squad 48-1 to assist also. Engine 48-2 supplied Truck 5 (Strasburg) and Rescue 47 with water while
Rescue 48 assisted with manpower and Air 48 provided cascade support. Station 48 was clear of the incident at 3:40 PM.
12/20/13 - Structure Fire Assist To 41
Just before 8 PM on friday evening, Engine 48-2 was dispatched to assist Station 41 (Hand-in-Hand) with a possible
structure fire on Douglas Drive in East Lampeter Township. Engine 48-2 responded with six personnel and assisted the
crew from Engine 41-1 with checking the residence for a possible electrical problem. The cause for the alarm was traced
back to a faulty breaker in the home. Engine 48-2 was clear of the scene at 8:30 PM.
12/03/2013 - Structure Fire Assist to Station 44
On Tuesday morning just before 9:00 AM, Rescue 48 was disptached to assist Station 44 (Intercourse Fire) on a reported
building fire. First arriving units found a working woodshop fire and requested a second alarm bringing Engine 48-2
and Air 48. The crews from Engine 48-2 and Rescue 48 were assigned fire attack on the Charlie / Delta sides. Air
48 provided cascade support filling (27) air cylinders. Station 48 was back in quarters at 1:00 PM.
